PLACID BAY SANITARY DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE ROADS COMMITTEE LEAD
The Placid Bay Civic Association (PBCA) is looking for someone to represent Placid Bay Estates (PBE) in leading a Roads Committee on Westmoreland County’s Placid Bay Estates Sanitary District.
The Placid Bay Sanitary District was established by Virginia and Westmoreland County legislation in 1988. Since that time, the County Board of Supervisors of the Sanitary District has been responsible for the maintenance of the dams on Mattox Creek and for distributing maintenance funds for PBE gravel roads. (Gravel roads and dam maintenance funds are collected from PBE property owners through a fixed fee and a real estate tax of each owner’s property value).
In addition to Sanitary District services, there are also funds for revenue sharing with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to keep the gravel roads up to State standards.
The Person responsible for leading this PBCA Roads Committee will be responsible for:
- Attending and/or reviewing County Board Meetings Minutes regarding PBE roads.
- Identifying road problems and coordinating remedies.
- Presenting the PBCA Board of Directors’ proposals to the Placid Bay Sanitary District on road repair priorities.
- Obtaining updated information on the Placid Bay Sanitary District’s funding, budget and audits for the PBCA Board and for the Placid Bay community’s review.
