Placid Lake is a 6.3 acre lake that is created by Placid Lake dam [Mattox Dam]. The dam was restored in 2012 through a rebuilding loan for which a separate tax is billed by the county to each lot owner based on the value of your property. This dam is crossed by a paved Mattox Avenue which is maintained by the state.
