PBCA Annual Meeting 5/4/24 @10am

The Placid Bay Civic Association Annual Meeting is Saturday, May 4th, at 10:00 AM at the Placid Bay Event Venue. You are encouraged to socialize with the current Board of Directors at 9:00 AM.

This meeting will include elections for four board positions. There is also a planned community vote for By-Law amendments. To participate in the voting process, it’s important to be an active member in good standing. This means you have paid your 2024 dues and either rent or own in PBE.

Please note that PBCA’s primary goal is the maintenance of community-owned properties (lakes, docks, boat ramp, flag circle, signage, and Event Venue) and community social events. This organization has no control over roads, flooding, construction, permits, zoning, taxes, or personal property.

Members in good standing will be allowed to give a 3-minute statement at the end of the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions or have discussions before and/or after the official meeting.

PBCA working meeting: By-Law changes 4/15/24 @7pm

The Placid Bay Civic Association Board will convene for a working meeting on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 7 pm, at the Placid Bay Event Venue. The primary agenda item for discussion will be discussion of changes to PBCA’s By-Laws. Minutes of the meeting will be recorded and made public. While this meeting is primarily for board members, the public is invited to attend in an observational capacity.

Westmoreland County Hazardous Waste Collection

Westmoreland County’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Spring collection will take place at the A. T. Johnson Building parking lot in Montross on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 9am-2pm. The fee charge has been removed! Residents & property owners will not be charged a weight fee for HHW items. Sponsored by C&F Bank, Shred-it will be available for onsite document shredding and the Sheriff’s office will be present to collect prescription drugs. The collection is limited to Westmoreland County residents and property owners only.

Westmoreland County residents and property owners are asked to bring old household chemicals such as oil-based paint, cleaners, solvents, old or used petroleum products (including mower and boat gas), pool chemicals, pesticides and spent florescent and CFL bulbs. NO electronics.

Residents should not bring ammunition, radioactive materials, tires, car batteries, electronics, or medical waste.

PBCA COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY APRIL 7 @Noon

Get ready to fuel the community spirit at Placid Bay Estates!  Our annual Community Improvement Day is back, promising a burst of energy and teamwork. Mark your calendars for Noon, April 7th, at the pavilion.

Together, we’ll tackle projects that not only enhance our neighborhood but also bring us closer.

This year’s lineup includes:

  • Rebuilding the Event Venue’s Horseshoe Pit
  • Power washing the Event Venue’s siding and deck
  • Spreading mulch at community sites
  • Roadway litter cleanup
