A very special thanks to the volunteers who came out to help with repairs to the grist mill stone!!! Now it needs time to cure and then it will be lifted for a better view!!!!!

Monday July 21, 2025, 10:00 AM Placid Bay volunteers are needed to help repair a damaged grist mill stone that is at Mattox Avenue and Lake Drive (near the Venue). Most repairs have been done; only topping the stone facing with 7-8” of concrete is now needed. If you have a wheelbarrow and a shovel you can bring, that would be a great help, or—even better—a concrete mixer!

Time to get some free summer reading! Check out Placid Bay’s Little Free Libraries: Bay Books is under the pavilion at the Event Venue (67 Mattox Avenue) and the READ Seahorse is just down the street from the Venue on Seahorse Drive! Libraries are currently full and just waiting for readers!!!!!

Resident, as you are aware, we are currently working on Phase 3 of road construction on Holly Way and Deux Rue. During construction there will be road closures. When possible, those roadways will reopen at the conclusion of each workday. 

Please plan to use an alternate route around construction sites to your destination. If travel is necessary beyond a closure ahead

DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL YOU HAVE GAINED THE ATTENTION OF SITE PERSONNEL AND CAN BE SAFELY ESCORTED THROUGH THE WORK AREA.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but it is necessary to protect you as well as our crew from hazards within the work area during construction.
